Mahiru was always a mysterious and interesting character to me. Moreso after I read the full light novel compilation of suffering which is called "Guren Ichinose - Catastrophe at 16". It depicts the events leading up to the anime and the apocalypse. You get to know and to love Mahiru as a character way more after reading these books. I decided I just had to cosplay her afterwards...
